Nutrien provides lead donation and volunteer leadership

Nutrien Ltd., headquartered in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is driven by its commitment to feeding the future and contributing to the communities where it operates.

On July 25, 2022, Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre was pleased to host the announcement of Nutrien as the lead donor to the Nutrien Plant Possibility capital campaign. The historic $2.5 million gift is in support of the food bank’s future home.

The announcement was made by Candace Laing, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Nutrien, who is also providing volunteer leadership to the campaign in the capacity of Campaign Chair.

"We are very excited about the generosity of Nutrien and the possibilities for our new home," said Laurie O’Connor, Executive Director of SFBLC.

The Nutrien-supported location will help SFBLC continue its critical service to the Saskatoon community. It will be a place to better address hunger for families, children, students, Indigenous groups, seniors, newcomers to Canada and others through food and learning opportunities.

"Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre is committed to ensuring a food-secure community where all people have access to safe, affordable, and nutritious food. At Nutrien, we want to help them take that to the next level, in the years to come," Laing said. "We’re so pleased to help fund a new home to help this mission.”
